Evangeline Bauer, Founder + Owner
MSW, LCSW, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, Certified Autism Specialist
Hi, my name is Evangeline Bauer. I started Come Play, STL to give children and families a better, well-rounded approach to pediatric mental health. I am so glad I did, because I get the chance to engage with children who aspire to be artists, doctors, teachers, and fire fighters but currently are struggling with this season of life. Because we work as a collaborative team, I get to work alongside the other, very talented professionals at Come Play, STL and get to know the child’s parents, teachers and school administrators well during this season.
My educational background is in Social Work. I graduated from Concordia University in Chicago with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and from Dominican University with a Master's degree in Social Work. I have been trained as a Registered Play Therapist, a Certified AutPlay Therapist, EMDRIA approved in EMDR, and a Certified Autism Specialist. I have also been trained in TheraPlay, Sandtray Therapy, mindfulness, and storytelling, and I have taken courses from The Star Institute in Denver, which specializes in Sensory Processing Disorder. I have had the privilege to work with children who were struggling with a transition in their life, to children who had panic attacks, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, ADHD, struggled with attachment, had severe trauma or were on the Autism Spectrum.
A little bit about me: I have been blessed with two girls who are constantly teaching me patience, how to extend grace, to stay quick on my toes and enjoy every moment no matter how big or how small.
I look forward to getting to know you and discovering how Come Play, STL can benefit your child and family.
Diane Tarr, Interim CEO
With a deep passion for creating impactful systems and improving healthcare operations, I bring extensive leadership experience to Come Play, STL where I previously served as Operations Team Lead. I am thrilled to return for this next chapter. What I am most excited about is the opportunity to collaborate with this amazing and dedicated team.
When not strategizing for Come Play, STL I enjoy running, biking, traveling, and spending time with the people I love.
Bethany Arkills, Chief Medical Officer
MOT, OTR/L
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Movement and Sports Science, with a minor in Psychology, from Purdue University; and a Master of Occupational Therapy, with honors, from Saint Louis University.
I have extensive experience providing therapy to children with a variety of diagnoses, including: Autism, Down Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Visual Impairment; and I have provided therapy in both public school and private settings. I have completed additional continuing education courses including: sensory processing, The Alert Program, Zones of Regulation, Autism/Autism Spectrum Disorders, yoga for children, handwriting, and visual processing. As well, I completed the Advanced Mentored Clinician in SPD Level I training offered through the STAR Institute, located in Denver, Colorado, which is a renowned leader in Sensory Processing Disorder research and treatment. I am also a Certified Safe and Sound Protocol facilitator. The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is based on years of research regarding Polyvagal Theory and engages our body’s auditory system and its direct connection to the nervous system to restore the brain and body’s ability to find states of calm, safety, and regulation.
Some of my favorite things to do with my husband include: travel, bicycle, take our two dogs for long walks in the park, attend Cardinals games, try new restaurants, find fun, and shop at out of the way local retailers. I love to bake and create new recipes. I have two rescue dogs, Mia and Lilly, who bring me and my husband so much joy!
My decision to join Come Play, STL was a natural move because I am passionate about helping each child be able to participate in meaningful activities. I also love using the multidisciplinary team model, which encompasses a holistic approach in order to meet each child's individual needs.
Rachel Brown, Clinical Team Lead-Creve Coeur
MA Ed
I earned my B.S. in Psychology in May of 2005, as well as my Masters of Arts in Education in Special Education (Mild to Moderate Cross-Categorical K-12) in August 2006 from Truman State University. Since that time, I have also earned my School Psychological Examiner certificate from Lindenwood University. I taught special education for five years prior to becoming a School Psychological Examiner. I began my career as a middle school resource teacher in the Special School District and moved to Premier Charter School a year later to become the K-2 Special Education teacher. Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, I became the full-time School Psychological Examiner. Recently the opportunity to join the Come Play, STL team arose and, with my expertise, I am able to assist families with the completion of psycho-educational evaluations. These evaluations provide families with an understanding of their child’s intellectual and educational achievement abilities, which reveals a child’s academic strengths and weaknesses and may lead to the identification of a learning disability. These results also produce recommendations important to the educational development of the child.
In my free time, I am a wife and mother who enjoys spending time with family and friends. Some of our favorite family activities include visiting the animals at the zoo, finding hidden parks across St. Louis, and exploring other family friendly attractions on the weekends. Personally, I love attending concerts, watching movies, reading, and finding new crafts and recipes to try on Pinterest. I also play the violin and am in the process of teaching myself to play the ukulele.

Sarah Minkoff, Play Therapy Fellow-Intern Coordinator
MSW, LMSW
Hi, my name is Sarah Minkoff and I'm thrilled to be a part of Come Play, STL! I started as an intern here while I completed my Master of Social Work which I received in May 2023 from WashU. I moved to St. Louis from Boston, MA in 2021 where I worked as an early educator and administrator for seven years before switching paths to pursue Social Work. I also taught English in southern China for a year and a half.
I have had the opportunity to work with children within my classrooms aged 0-13 with a variety of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and anxiety. I have also worked with children who experienced trauma, had severe behavioral or developmental needs, or frequent emotional dysregulation. I want to gain more insight into how therapy, specifically play therapy, can be used to support young children or children who've experienced trauma around the world where language may be a barrier.
In my free time, I love theater, and have been slowly learning to tap dance. I like to paint and bake gluten free treats as well. I am always looking for new adventures, interesting foods to try, and new languages to learn.

I'm excited to continue growing in these areas and explore new fields of practice at Come Play STL! I believe in collaborating with each client to help them identify and achieve their goals.
When I'm not at Come Play STL, you can find me at trivia nights, reading for my book club, or catching the latest movie in theaters. In the winter, I love being out in the snow, reminding me of my hometown in Minnesota
