We understand the unique needs you have when it comes to ongoing testing and caseload management for your students. In this article, we’ll highlight our most recent partnership with Lafayette Preparatory Academy, and share how we can help streamline and simplify your school’s IEP management.
About Come Play, STL
We are a multidisciplinary pediatric therapy provider that exists to serve children and families through a holistic approach. We are unique in that we specialize in multidisciplinary services, covering both medical and behavioral health.
Our clinic is located on Grand Boulevard in St. Louis, right across from Tower Grove Park. In our clinic, we see children of all ages and also offer parent support services. We offer diagnostic testing, therapeutic groups, and 1:1 occupational, speech, and play therapy.
In addition to our clinic-based services, we have realized a need for Charter Schools to have a reliable, professional, and experienced team to provide IEP Eligibility Testing and caseload management for their students. Given our expertise in this area, we are excited to now offer these services to Charter Schools.
Come Play's Journey with Lafayette Preparatory Academy
Lafayette Preparatory Academy reached out to us two weeks before the start of the school year. They had previously collaborated with a different provider, but were dissatisfied with the level of support they received.
Having referred students to us in the past, they were familiar with our in-clinic services. It was an easy transition to provide these services directly at their school.
Through this new partnership, we have provided IEP Eligibility Assessments, Psychological Examinations, and ongoing services such as OT and Speech minutes. In addition, our Kindergarten Readiness Groups and early-year screeners for OT and Speech reflect a proactive approach to addressing potential challenges before they escalate.
Through ongoing collaboration, Lafayette Preparatory Academy has benefitted from specialized services, affording teachers invaluable insights into student needs. We are fostering a supportive and resourceful educational environment that allows the school to focus on education, while we provide the specialized services needed for its students.
Services Provided to Charter Schools
Come Play offers comprehensive testing and caseload management for Charter Schools, with flexibility to accommodate your unique needs.
IEP Eligibility Testing
For IEP Eligibility Testing, Come Play conducts a comprehensive psychological examination, emphasizing educational diagnoses and learning disorders, such as ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Auditory, Visual, and Sensory Processing Disorders, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia, among others. We conduct evaluations of intellectual abilities, including assessments of both IQ and giftedness.
In the school setting, we focus on educational, not medical, diagnoses. Our process includes a vital classroom observation component, offering a holistic understanding of each student's needs.
Parent Meetings
We offer vast experience conducting IEP Parent Meetings with the involvement of key school personnel. In the event that a child doesn't meet the criteria for an IEP under state or federal guidelines, we can still recommend the appropriate therapy services privately through our clinic.
This approach not only relieves families from the financial strain of additional testing but also facilitates a seamless transition into therapy services. This option extends ongoing assistance to parents, mitigating the frustration often associated with not qualifying for an IEP.
Speech and OT Testing
As part of our comprehensive IEP Eligibility Testing, we offer both Speech and OT Testing. These evaluations are administered by licensed and experienced Speech & Language, as well as Occupational Therapists.
Ongoing Services
Our ongoing services include weekly 45-minute Speech and OT sessions, as well as Counseling services, should the school require that component.
Expanding Services and Collaboration
We offer Social Skills Groups, Kindergarten Readiness Programs, and Speech & OT Screeners for all kindergarteners.
Our Kindergarten Readiness Program focuses on preparing young learners for a smooth transition into formal education. It incorporates activities that enhance social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skills, fostering a foundation for academic success.
By providing Speech & OT Screenings for all kindergarteners, we can proactively identify potential issues, extending support to both the student and their teacher. This is especially valuable as teachers may not always possess the expertise and training necessary to address early developmental concerns.
Navigating Budgets with Come Play's Flexible Partnership Model
For schools navigating budgetary concerns, our partnership offers flexibility. Come Play's payment structure, based on service increments, allows schools to optimize their resources efficiently. Additionally, the collaboration enables schools to focus on essential tasks while outsourcing specialized testing and therapy services to dedicated professionals.
We offer flexibility when it comes to back-end support, with the option for handling administrative tasks, such as rating scales and scheduling, either in-house or outsourced to us.
We are committed to supporting schools in providing the best possible services for their students. If you would like more information on how Come Play, STL can partner with your school, please contact us today!
